Laboratory tests were carried out to test the following elements: tearing of eyelets and straps, adhesion, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion resistance of the outer sole and uppers, accelerated aging. The design of the sole is the result of long research carried out in our laboratories. It is composed of a specific rubber formula that optimizes grip and traction. We are always looking for the best solution for walking on loose or mineral trails (forest or coastal). When used on roads, this can lead to premature wear of your boots and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for high mountain hiking.
What is the waterproofing performance of these NH500 MID LEATHER WP boots?
Waterproofing is tested in the laboratory and in the field for wear and aging. During the laboratory waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexible climbs (30 minutes of walking), 10,000 flexible climbs (3 hours of walking) and 30,000 flexible climbs (6 hours of walking). This boot model has been tested for up to 30,000 bends, which is equivalent to 6 km of walking.

Which pair of socks should you wear with the NH500 MID LEATHER WP hiking boots?
These shoes are slightly ventilated, but not enough to remove all the moisture created by your perspiration. We recommend choosing Hike 100 Low or Mid socks. They contain cotton that absorbs moisture and have a knitted construction with reverse silk under the socks that wicks moisture away from your foot. They are also high enough to protect your ankle from the shoes. It's an excellent combination to reduce the chance of blisters.
