Why is the pole sold individually?
At Decathlon, we have decided to sell our hiking/mountaineering poles individually. Firstly, because of the way they are used. Indeed, some people only want to use one pole. Also, if one of your poles breaks, this means you only have to buy one and not a full pair.
How it was designed...
Fully designed and validated by our team. Why did we choose Push-pin?
Some users want simple pole adjustment. This system is simple, reliable, lightweight and cheap. Why large tubes?
Why large tubes? This model is designed for hikers who demand reliability and safety. Why a straight foam handle?
Why a straight foam handle? Because our field tests have shown that comfort is better than with a plastic handle.
How to adjust the poles to the correct length?
Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To do this:
- pull the lower section until the lower pin locks;
- slide the middle tube until the upper pin reaches the desired hole;
- use the lines printed on the tubes to align the push-pin with the holes;
Never exceed the STOP line to avoid breaking the pole.
Care advice
Proper maintenance of your pole will ensure it performs optimally and lasts longer. After use, if water has penetrated the pole, remove the threads and let them dry. If necessary, clean dust or mud with water or a dry brush. Once dry, you can reassemble the threads. We recommend that you do not try to oil or grease the mechanisms.
Instructions for use
This hiking pole is designed to help you maintain balance, propel yourself and distribute effort between your arms and legs. To be safe, check before you set off and at regular intervals that your pole is fixed in place by simulating heavy impacts. Do not place it in your backpack during a storm. Some users are sensitive to the whistling noise that can occur when the wind passes through the adjustment holes.
