How to check the wear on your mountain bike tire?
To measure the wear on your tires and know when they need replacing, you should inspect the tire's surface. Common signs of wear include: - you can see the protective strip (or underlying layer) underneath the tire's tread. - if the pattern on the surface of your bike tire has worn down. If either of these two conditions is met, we recommend replacing the tire.
How to remove your tire
To remove a worn tire, first deflate the inner tube after the wheel has been removed. Press the sides to dislodge the tire from the rims. Then use DECATHLON tire levers (ref.: 8930710) to pry and remove the tire from the edge of the rims. Attach a tire lever to a spoke and repeat the action until one side is completely detached.
How to fit a new tire with an inner tube
Start by mounting one side of the tire, paying attention to the direction of rotation (if indicated). Then add the tire with the inner tube slightly inflated and mount the last part onto the rims, starting from the valve to avoid pinching.
How to inflate the tire correctly
Before inflating the tire, check that it is correctly mounted. Once this step is complete, check the inflation recommendations indicated on the side of the tire. Inflate to the indicated pressure.
