OUR GIRLS' SWIMSUIT SIZES

BEGINNER SURFER

Your daughter is starting to surf in very small waves. She stays where she can touch the bottom and is under supervision. She wants to have fun in the waves and enjoy new experiences. As she learns to surf, she will vanish into waves that are not powerful at all. We have designed swimsuits that adapt to the body shape of young surfers for a secure fit in the waves.

Dry size and wet size

To ensure a perfect fit in the water, it is important to choose the right size while dry, because once in the water, swimsuits become looser. Therefore, we recommend you buy the right size. The swimsuit should fit snugly on your body in the fitting room and you should feel supported. The elastane content in some components used in the design of our swimsuits softens and relaxes in the water.

Do you want to change your swimwear?

Is the size or style not right for you? Do you want to change it at your Decathlon store? No problem, just make sure you don't cut the swimsuit label in case you want to change it.

Bralette and crossed back

The BONI two-piece swimsuit is designed for the growing girl who wants to discover the fun of this sport. She likes to surf in a swimsuit during the summer, but wants the swimsuit to stay in place in the waves. With the crop top shape and crossed back, the young surfer can surf without worrying about her swimsuit. The X-shaped crossed back offers ideal freedom of movement.

STAYS IN PLACE IN WAVES: THE TEST

We design swimsuits that promise to stay in place in the waves. To test them, we use a panel of at least 12 female surfers of different body shapes, who follow a testing protocol in a pool at our design offices in Hendaye. This protocol aims to reproduce the sensations experienced by surfers when jumping from a wave. If this test is conclusive, we go surfing in the sea to test the swimwear in real conditions.

GIRLS' SWIMSUIT SIZES

At Decathlon, we design swimsuits for young surfers taking into account their height. That's why we systematically link the child's height to the size, as age is not enough to guarantee the correct size. Two 10-year-old girls can be of completely different heights, weights, and shapes, and have different measurements. We also recommend trying on the swimsuit in the store if possible.
