PROTECTION FOR CHILDREN

Babies' skin is very sensitive to the sun, as babies' protective systems only become effective after 3 years of age. For identical exposure, the effects of the sun are 2 to 3 times stronger on a child than on an adult. Therefore, it is important to protect them effectively.

WHAT DOES UPF 50+ MEAN?

UPF is a sun protection factor (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) and is standardized worldwide. It defines the level of protection of a fabric and more precisely the percentage of UV rays it allows to pass through. To meet the standards, it must block at least 95% of UV rays. UPF 50+ means that the fabric blocks at least 95% of UVA and 98% of UVB rays.

How should you behave in the sun?

Although this UV protection hat provides sun protection, other factors such as reflections (from water, sand, etc.), heat, time of day, etc. should be considered. Wearing this hat does not exempt the wearer from following relevant advice: Wear sunglasses, regularly apply suitable sunscreen, wear a UV protection t-shirt or a short suit, stay hydrated, etc.
