Our designers have developed these shoes so that children can walk on trails in all types of weather.
Waterproofing Test
Tested both in the lab and in real-world use, these shoes guarantee waterproofing and breathability. First, the shoe is submerged in water while internal air pressure is applied to check that no bubbles form on the shoe's surface. Then, the boots are placed on a mechanical arm that simulates walking, partially submerged in water, so that we can test that the interior remains completely dry. For this model, the test lasted the equivalent of 8 km under the mentioned conditions.
Product Design: Our Expertise
Our global design center in Quechua is located in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute Savoie. This location makes it a true meeting place for our teams (designers, product managers, engineers, etc.) and outdoor sports enthusiasts. A great asset for designing your mountain hiking products and offering you all our expertise.
Purchase Advice
Allow children to try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks they wear for outdoor walking. Check two comfort points: the heel base and the front part of the foot that slopes downwards. Avoid all pressure points when trying on shoes. Gradually start using your shoes during the first few walks to break them in. Makes waterproofing last longer
The waterproofing of a shoe is often damaged by water entering from the top of the shoe. To keep feet dry for longer, it is advisable to use a waterproof gaiter or mini-gaiter that will prevent water, as well as pebbles, sand, etc., from entering from the top. It is advisable to use a waterproof spray several times a year. This restores the original waterproof properties and prevents stains.
Removable Insole
Removable insole for faster drying. It can also be replaced with an orthopedic insole.
Sole Grip
The grip of our soles is certified. To be certified, the boots must pass laboratory tests to evaluate the degree of grip on different surfaces (smooth, rough, dry, wet). To validate these tests, we also evaluate the quality of our soles in the field, in the mountains, by a panel of young testers.
What size should I choose?
For outdoor walking, do not hesitate to choose one size larger than your child's usual shoe size. This will ensure optimal comfort during descents and prevent toes from hitting the shoe. Tip: Keep nails short and, before each descent, check that the Velcro and/or laces are properly tied to prevent the foot from sliding forward in the shoe.
