Is this uniform really durable?
To start karate, you need an outfit that is both strong and light. This kimono is made of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. This gives you greater durability, as well as quick drying and long-lasting results when machine washed at 30°C. With a weight of 220 g/m² (8 oz), the material remains light, making it easy to perform your techniques.
What is so elegant about the design of this uniform?
Regardless of what style of karate you practice, this karategi is as elegant as it is technical: - The pants are cut so that they can be used with groin guards and shin guards;
- The jacket is fixed at the hips for an elegant fit;
- The amplitude of the jacket at the torso means that all arm techniques can be performed without restriction;
- The splits on the sides of the jacket give you more freedom to move your legs, even when you are staying low.
How was the range created?
Enrique, a black belt in karate and product manager, tells us: "Everything had to be rewritten, we started from scratch. Our priorities were to rework the fabrics and the cut to create attractive uniforms, but that still looked like karate uniforms. We put ourselves in the user's shoes to create dozens of prototypes. Then they underwent tests with about twenty karateka, until they came up with a correct and balanced kimono that would convince even the most zealous purists."
What style of karate is this uniform suitable for?
There are many different schools of karate, each with its own style. Did you know that the French federation website presents 32 different styles? Our kimono corresponds to Shotokan karate. With its short bottom and long sleeves, this European cut will suit most styles you will encounter on the tatami. Don't forget to buy the belt, which is not included with this product.
