This long-sleeved rain poncho, developed in the French Alps, helps protect you from the rain during outdoor hikes.
Water repellency of components
The water repellency of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it light, warm, and breathable. Water repellency is achieved by treating the outer surface of the fabric. This treatment must be repeated throughout the garment's lifespan (every 3 washes). All Quechua ponchos and rain ponchos have a water-repellent treatment.
Waterproofing of components
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components measuring 2000 mm can withstand pressure from 2000 mm of water (which is equivalent to a two-hour rain shower).
Fit and sizing information
Good coverage for hikers between 157 and 173 cm (size S/M) or 174 and 190 cm (size L/XL) carrying a maximum 60L backpack. The hood can be tightened thanks to the elastic cord and stopper. The sleeve ends are fitted with an elastic strap that prevents water from entering the sleeves. This rain poncho is easy to put on and take off thanks to the long front zip that slides easily over the head.
Other recommended products
To complete your outfit, we recommend waterproof overpants or gaiters to fully protect the lower legs. For better ventilation, the waterproof hat can also be attached to the poncho!
Waterproofing of the garment
This garment has been validated in a shower test with 60 liters of water/m²/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a heavy rain shower in the mountains.
Care
We recommend using a re-waterproofing product (spray or liquid) to renew the fabric's water-repellent properties and optimize the garment's performance throughout its lifespan.
Breathability of components
Our range of ponchos and rain ponchos does not come with a waterproof/breathable membrane. Therefore, we recommend calm and gentle use to reduce perspiration instead of fast walking!
This waterproof rain poncho is the essential accessory for your mountain hikes. It can be put on quickly, protects against long-term rain, with or without a backpack (up to 60 L).
