How to inflate the tyre correctly
Inflate the tyre carefully. The recommended pressure is indicated on the side of the tyre and on its product sheet (available online). Before each ride, make sure your tyres have the correct pressure for your ride.
How to measure tyre wear
To measure road tyre wear and to know when they need to be replaced, you need to inspect the treads. Signs of wear include:
- the tread starts to fray
- the appearance of a series of small cracks
- low tread depth
- the casing becomes visible. In all these cases, the tyre is worn and needs to be replaced.
How to remove a tyre
To remove the tyre, deflate the inner tube until no more air comes out. Then separate the tyre from the rim with a tyre lever.
Professional tip
When inflating, it is important to achieve the correct pressure depending on the terrain and especially on the weather. If you ride in rainy weather, do not hesitate to lower the tyre pressure to increase their grip. When riding in dry weather, you can increase the pressure for better performance.
How to mount a tyre
To put the tyre back on, insert one side of the tyre into the rim. Then, inflate the inner tube to approximately 30% before placing it in the tyre (pre-inflating the tyre reduces the risk of pinching the tyre). Then, insert the other side of the tyre into the rim, starting from the side opposite the valve. Before fully inflating the tyre, check that it is not pinched between the tyre and the rim.
