Our camping designers created this 10L balanced-pressure solar shower for comfortable outdoor showering and rinsing items.
DESIGN TEAM TESTS - STANDING SHOWER
Here are our temperature readings after a heat test on the standing shower exposed to the sun. The test was conducted on a mid-June afternoon in the South of France. The shower was standing, pressurized, and filled with water to the maximum level (10 L). Outside temperature 25°C, barely any wind, solar power 750 W/M². Initial water temperature: 22°C. In 3 hours, water heated from 22°C to 30°C. In 5 hours, water went from 22°C to 35°C. In 6 hours and 48 minutes, water went from 22°C to 38°C.
Dimensions
Pressurised shower: Height: 52 cm | Diameter: 24 cm
Compact shower:
Height: 40 cm | Width: 22 cm | Depth: 22 cm
Shower hose is made from transparent PU. Inner diameter: 6.5 mm | Outer diameter: 9.5 mm | Length: 2.6 m
Recommendations for use
To encourage temperature gain, place the shower in the sun between 12pm and 6pm. We advise against placing it behind a car windscreen; our tests show that water can go beyond 70°C. Be careful that the temperature drops as soon as the sun sets. When pressurising, a ringing sound from the valve will signal maximum pressure: pump again when the pressure drops during use.
WATER VISIBILITY
We've added a window so you can see the current water level.
Don’t throw away, repair!
This shower is sold with a repair kit for the pump (gaskets). You can find the shower head with the hose and pump repair kit on our website on the after-sales service. TIME AND CONDITIONS FOR HEATING WATER
The heating time depends on several factors: initial water temperature, outside temperature, type of ground (concrete, grass, etc.), wind, sun, etc. To speed up heating, increase the surface area exposed to the sun by laying out the uninflated shower. It is also possible to add hot water directly, but be careful as the temperature must not exceed 50°C, as you risk damaging the product components and endangering yourself.
DESIGN TEAM TESTS - LYING SHOWER
You can improve the heating time by increasing the surface area exposed to the sun: Place the shower horizontally on a table or on the ground. Performance will be improved under the same testing conditions as the standing position.
WATER TEMPERATURE GAUGE
We've added a water temperature gauge. This starts when the water is at 30°C and goes up to 40°C. In all cases, it's recommended to run off a little water before showering, to ensure it's not too hot.
Our motivation? We want to offer you a solar-powered shower solution that you don't need to hang up! The water will be under pressure even if your shower is on the ground thanks to the pumping system!
