This model is designed for regular mountaineers who want a practical pole for all year round. It does everything: nature walks, snowshoeing, skiing, etc.
How it was designed...
This model was entirely designed and approved by our team, at the foot of Mont Blanc. The starting point of our design is the external locking mechanism for precise and quick adjustment. We created an extra long handle for different grip types: along the tube for climbing and steep terrain, with the wrist strap for efficient pushing and a handle for descent. We use our best 7075-T6 aluminum combined with a simple and durable 2-strand design.
How to adjust the poles to the correct length?
Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To do this:
- open the external lever
- slide the tube to the desired length
- close the lever
Never cross the STOP line to avoid breaking the pole.
Why is the pole sold separately?
At Decathlon, we have decided to sell our walking/mountaineering poles individually. First, because of how they are used. Indeed, some people only want to use one pole. Also, if one of your poles breaks, it means you only have to buy one and not a complete pair.
Accessories sold separately and adapted for this model
The advantage of buying Forclaz mountain walking poles is that you have a wide choice of compatible accessories and spare parts. This way you can enjoy it for as long as possible. Mountain walking pole caps: reference 8580865

Instructions for use
This mountain walking pole is made to maintain balance, move and distribute force between your arms and legs. To be safe, check regularly before starting that the pole is fixed. If you notice that your pole tends to slide down, the return ring of the locking mechanism should be adjusted. Open the lever and rotate the handle a quarter to half a turn. Do not wear your backpack in case of a storm.
NEVER FORGET SAFETY...
For off-piste hiking, make sure you are equipped with maps, a compass and/or GPS and carry an avalanche victim detector, a shovel and a probe. These three devices allow you to find yourself if you are caught in an avalanche or if you are looking for a victim. And don't forget to review your safety basics.
