This UV protection top is ideal for surfing in warm water, for sessions lasting up to 2 hours.
How to choose your UV protection top (Part 1)
All our UV-resistant tops are UPF50+, meaning they have the maximum level of sun protection. The choice between them will be based on sleeve length and will depend on their intended use. The constraints are greater for surfing, so we decided to build our range primarily for surfing. For surfing, the choice will be made according to the duration of your sessions: 1 hour, 2 hours, or 3 hours.
Against irritation
UPF is a sun protection factor (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) and is standardized worldwide. It determines the level of protection of a fabric and, more precisely, the percentage of UV rays it allows to pass through. To meet the standards, it must block at least 95% of UV rays. UPF 50+ means that the fabric blocks at least 95% of UVA rays and 98% of UVB rays.
Heat and wind
The minimum water temperature recommended for using this UV protection top is 22°C. The air temperature can increase or decrease this recommendation. Our thermal models (over 2 hours) are made of fleece, neoprene, or both. The presence of wind can have an unpleasant impact once the wind exceeds 15 km/h: In this case, choose a neoprene model.
Drawstring
This UV-resistant top has a drawstring at the hip. This allows you to tighten the top so that it stays firmly in place. It is also designed so that the cord of the shorts can be attached to it to prevent the top from riding up while surfing.
Behavior in the sun
Although this top offers sun protection, phenomena such as reflections (from water, sand, etc.), heat, time of day, etc., must be taken into account. Wearing this top does not exclude the wearer from adopting appropriate behavior: Wear sunglasses, wear a hat or cap, regularly apply suitable sunscreen, drink regularly, etc.
UV protection even when wet
The fabric of this UV-resistant product blocks at least 98% of UVB radiation and 95% of UVA radiation (UPF 50+). This guarantees effective sun protection. It can be used both in and out of the water, for water or marine sports. The density of the textile fibers filters UV rays, for long-lasting protection, even after washing. Caution: the elastane contained in the fiber can deteriorate in chlorinated water.
How to choose your UV protection top (Part 2: According to session duration)
1 hour: Occasional practice. You can choose a loose cut for ease and dry comfort, or a tight cut for comfort when wet. A loop system to attach it to shorts ensures the stability of the product. 2 hours: Regular practice. Comfort when wet is increased by seamless panels under the arms and a drawstring which further increases stability. 3 hours: Intensive practice. Additional warmth to help you stay in the water longer.

Our UV tops are designed to meet the needs of the most demanding surfers. Our design choices also make them compatible with other water sports such as swimming, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, sea walking, or SUP (stand-up paddleboarding).
