This UV-protective swimsuit is designed to protect babies from the sun during water activities and near the sea.
WHAT DOES UPF 50+ MEAN?
UPF is a sun protection factor (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) and is standardized worldwide. It determines the level of protection of a fabric and more precisely the percentage of UV rays it allows to pass through. To meet the standards, it must block at least 95% of UV rays. UPF 50+ means that the fabric blocks at least 95% of UVA rays and 98% of UVB rays.
How should you behave in the sun?
Even though this UV-protective suit offers sun protection, other factors such as reflections (from water, sand, etc.), heat, time of day, and so on, should also be considered. Wearing this suit does not exempt the wearer from following relevant advice: wear sunglasses, regularly apply suitable sunscreen, wear a hat, stay hydrated, etc.
CHILD PROTECTION
Baby's skin is very sensitive to the sun, because babies' protective systems only become effective after 3 years of age. For identical exposure, the effects of the sun are 2 to 3 times stronger in a child than in an adult. Therefore, it is important to protect them effectively.
This long-sleeved, UV-protective suit protects children from UV rays, even in water. It is easy to wear thanks to the zipper at the back of the collar and the snap fasteners at the bottom of the leg.
