STAYS IN PLACE IN THE WAVES: THE TEST
We design swimwear that promises to stay in place in the waves. To test them, we use a panel of female surfers with different body shapes who follow a testing protocol in a pool at our design offices in Hendaye, South West France. This protocol aims to reproduce the sensations experienced by surfers when being thrown around by a wave. If this test is conclusive, we go surf in the sea to test our swimsuits in real conditions.
Crossed back straps
We designed the LIZY triangle swimsuit top so that young girls who surf can surf without worrying about losing their swimsuit in the waves. With its crossed back straps and wide elastic under the bust, the swimsuit is designed to give freedom of movement while paddling.
KNOWN SWIMSUIT SIZES FOR GIRLS
At Decathlon, we design swimsuits for young surfers by taking into account their height. This is why we systematically link the child's height to the size, as age is not sufficient to guarantee the correct size. Two 10-year-old girls can be completely different in height, weight and shape and have different measurements. We also recommend trying on the swimsuit if possible.
Removable pads
A padded cup is a piece of foam inserted into swimwear. So that our customers can decide whether or not they want to keep the padded cups, they are completely removable from the swimsuit. The user is free to add or not add cups. The main idea behind this padding is the protection of the modesty of young teenage girls. The padded cups conceal the nipples, which can be seen when the swimsuit is wet.
This is not a pad designed to enhance the body.
INTERMEDIATE SURFER
Surfing is your favourite sport and you surf regularly in warm waters. During your sessions, you go out paddling towards the line-up and either duck dive or perform a turtle roll, depending on whether you are on a shortboard or a longboard. You surf waves bigger than one metre and can do tricks. You frequently wipe out and are used to being tossed around underwater. You want your swimsuit to stay in place with each of your movements and not hinder you when paddling.
Looking to exchange your swimsuit
Is the size or style not right for you? Do you want to exchange it at your Decathlon store? No problem, just make sure you don't cut the swimsuit label in case you want to exchange it.
dry and wet size
To ensure a perfect fit in the water, it's important to choose the right size while dry, because once in the water, swimwear becomes looser. Therefore, we recommend you buy the right size. The swimsuit should fit snugly against your body in the changing room and you should feel supported. The elastane content in some components used in our swimsuit design softens and relaxes in the water.
