We have designed this sturdy compass for accurate orientation during hikes, climbs, and outdoor expeditions.

A larger, more intuitive, and precise needle

When we designed this compass, we chose a large needle for a more accurate visual alignment of the needle with the north lines of the map. Your needle never points to a graduation; it should always be perfectly parallel to the map lines.

Universal Balancing

The needle of this compass is universal. It can be used anywhere in the world!

Oil bath - yes or no?

Don't be afraid! 100% of Geonaute compasses are filled with viscous oil to guarantee their performance.

Graduation in 360 degrees and 6,400 mils

The rotating capsule consists of a double graduated ring: 360 degrees for the inner ring and 6,400 mils for the outer ring. Graduation in mils, which is more precise, has historically been used specifically for military exercises.

Declination Scale

Inside the capsule, you will find a declination scale. Magnetic declination is the angular difference between magnetic north and true north on your map. You will find the value of this declination online for your location.

Sighting Mirror for greater accuracy

The sighting mirror system gives you accurate orientation on the ground. The small lock in the cap's opening allows you to position the mirror at the ideal position (45°) for accurate views. To understand how to take a sighting, watch the explanatory video.
