How to use this product:
Press the button on the lower compartment while pulling the top part with your other hand. Place the chain between the two parts of the cleaner and close them by fitting the top part with the bottom part. Install the hook on your derailleur hanger. Pour degreaser through the hole at the top, respecting the recommended level (about 9 ml). Clean the chain by rotating the pedals counter-clockwise.
For optimal results:
Leave it for a few minutes. Finish the degreasing process with a few rotations of the pedals. Remove the chain cleaner. We recommend rinsing and thoroughly drying your chain before applying any lubricant. To ensure the chain cleaner works optimally, it is important to position your bike (on the ground or on a stand) so that the chain is as horizontal as possible.
Maintenance tips:
After use, to maintain effectiveness, remove the front foam, rinse it with clean water, and wring it out. Rinse the wheels and compartments with clean water, let them dry, and then wipe them. From the first use, the foam will be marked by the chain's passage, but this will not make it less effective. However, if you wish to replace it, a kit containing a replacement foam pad is available (Kit reference: 8882442).
How much degreaser should you use?
This chain cleaner is designed to give you good efficiency while using much less product than its predecessor. The previous model required 45 ml, while this one only needs 9 ml. So, with a 500 ml bottle, you can perform about 55 cleanings (compared to about 15 with the previous one).
Operating and useful features:
If the shape of the derailleur does not allow it to be actuated independently, simply hold the cleaner with one hand and pedal backward with the other: this will work just as well. For electric bikes that do not allow backward pedaling, you can use a pedal lock tool to enable this function.
Tip from professionals:
Use vegetable chain degreaser for greater efficiency. Change the degreaser as soon as it turns black. Collect the used degreaser and dispose of it at a waste disposal center.
