ANTI-UV
An anti-UV material, but what is it for? To protect your eyes from an invisible danger... UV rays. UV radiation is always present, in winter or summer, in sunny or even cloudy weather, and can be harmful to your eyes and their contours. To protect your vision, the lenses of our sunglasses are made of polycarbonate mixed with an "anti-UV" material which protects you from harmful sun rays (UVA and UVB).
Polarized
The best for your outdoor activities! Polarized lenses intensify colors and improve contrasts, as well as the appearance of the terrain. They offer good protection and excellent comfort by transmitting light only on one axis, while also protecting you from glare by blocking rays reflected from horizontal surfaces (water, snow, etc.). The only drawback is that it makes it difficult to read screens (phone, etc.) as the polarizing treatment reduces the brightness of screens.
GLARE
Classification of tinted lenses according to ISO 12312-1 standard: Category 1: lightly tinted lenses to reduce sun glare. Category 2: medium tinted lenses for medium sun glare. Category 3: dark lenses for strong sun glare (sea and mountains). Between 82% and 92% of visible light absorbed
- Category 4: very dark lenses, for extremely strong sun glare (high mountains). Between 92% and 97% of visible light absorbed
Good to know
Our polycarbonate lenses are very impact resistant, but sensitive to scratches. Remember that even if your lenses get scratched, the UV protection is not reduced; the mirror effect is purely for aesthetic purposes. The same applies to the color of our tinted lenses. Whether grey, brown or colored... you can choose your glasses according to your taste and you will still be protected, regardless of the color.
Anti-UV lenses block 100% of harmful rays and Category 3 protects you from glare. Thanks to their light weight and good hold, they offer excellent protection for outdoor hiking.
