Specific regulations
The Solognac 500 radio is free to use in France, but there are different regulations for each country. Learn about the legality of use from local authorities in other EU countries. The device is only compatible with handheld radios of other brands that transmit on the PMR 446 standard. It is not compatible with radios that use a different frequency, such as 157 MHz.

Batteries and battery life
The Solognac radio comes with three rechargeable batteries. If these fail, you can replace them with standard non-rechargeable LR3 batteries. Battery life 14 hours with the included AAA NiMH 800 mAh batteries. Battery life is calculated according to the following usage standard: 90% standby, 5% emitting, 5% receiving.

Transmission range of this radio-telephone
In lowlands without cover or in mountainous terrain from one peak to another, the maximum range is 10 km. In the countryside with mixed vegetation: 4 km. In hilly forests: 1.5 km. To note: The range can be affected by many factors, such as weather, humidity, presence of metals or power lines, vegetation, etc. Also note that it is not advisable to use walkie-talkies between 2 moving vehicles.
Tips for proper charging of your radio:
We recommend that the batteries are initially charged for 12 to 14 hours, then for 6 hours in regular use. Once the indicator shows 1 or 2 bars, charge it until 3 bars appear. To note: You can use the USB-C port to charge the device in your vehicle.
Channels and sub-channels
16 standard unencrypted PMR 446 MHz channels. 121 private sub-channels (38 CTCSS and 83 DCS). There are no restrictions on the number of radios that can transmit and receive on the same frequency.
