We have designed this padded gel saddle for occasional bike rides of up to 1 hour at a recreational intensity with a 90° back angle.
TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR BIKE RIDE:
For optimal saddle adjustment, several criteria are essential for effective posture. First, make sure the saddle is suitable for your posture (e.g. back tilted at 60°). Adjust the height to allow natural leg extension and the angle for comfortable support. Finally, adjust backwards and forwards to maintain perfect alignment between your knees and pedals.
1. Determining the saddle height (part 1):
For a perfectly adjusted bike, measure your inseam length. You'll need a hardcover book, a tape measure and a pencil. Stand with your back against the wall, barefoot and with your feet 15 to 20 cm apart. Place the book between your legs, move it up into the perineum and mark the wall above the book. Measure the distance between this mark and the floor. This measurement is essential for choosing the correct frame size, for comfort and safety.
How to choose your saddle based on your riding style?
Choosing the right saddle entirely depends on your position on the bike. For a straight-backed position (90°), opt for a very wide gel saddle, ideal for casual rides. If you're slightly bent over (60°), an intermediate saddle offers a good compromise between comfort and performance. Finally, for a sporty position (30°), choose a narrow saddle with a slim nose designed to minimise pressure and improve performance.
1. Determining the saddle height (part 2):
The right formula for a well-adjusted saddle
Multiply your inseam measurement by 0.883. Example: 89 cm → 78.6 cm between bottom bracket and saddle. This is an excellent starting point for comfortable cycling.
Features:
270 mm x 245 mm
3. Adjusting the saddle setback:
The perfect position is a matter of millimetres.
The front of your knee should be in line with the pedal axle. With the axle horizontal, check your posture while seated. Adjust the saddle forwards or backwards to correct your position.
Compatibility:
Compatible with all brands of seat posts with 7 mm rails.
3. MEASURING YOUR SIT BONE DISTANCE
Measure your sit bones in 4 steps:
- Place 2 pieces of corrugated cardboard on a flat stool. - Sit with your back straight and apply firm pressure for 1 minute. - Stand up, find the imprints you left and mark their centres. - Measure the gap: This is the width between your sit bones. This data is essential to choose the right saddle for your body shape.
2. Adjusting the saddle angle:
Adjust your saddle angle for optimal comfort. Take a level, place it on the front part between the centre and the nose. Make sure it is straight. Then adjust to what feels most comfortable after a few test rides.
Perfect for daily commutes with a wide cut suitable for all body shapes, gel padding, and cushioning for optimum comfort.
