What are Schmerbers?
Schmerbers measure the resistance to water pressure: the higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric is. With a rating of 20,000 mm H2O (Schmerbers), this jacket can withstand a 20 m column of water and guarantees optimal protection, even in heavy rain.
What is a membrane fabric?
The jacket's membrane fabric guarantees excellent waterproofing while effectively wicking away perspiration. Composed of 3 layers, the membrane is placed between the outer and inner fabrics for optimal durability and performance.
To what extent is this jacket breathable?
The JIS L 1099 B1 test measures the water vapour that passes through the fabric in 24 hours, in grams per square meter. The higher this value, the more breathable the fabric. A performance rating of 15,000 g/m²/24h, corresponding to a very breathable fabric, is ideal for walking in the mountains.
Why choose a breathable jacket?
The downside of waterproof jackets is often their lack of breathability. They keep you dry on the outside, but trap moisture inside. To prevent this, this jacket uses a highly breathable material and has large side openings to better wick away moisture.
What about the fit?
Its slim cut with raglan sleeves gives you optimal freedom of movement when hiking outdoors. This design makes it easy to wear with a fleece jacket or a light puffy jacket, depending on conditions. Practical tip: Choose one size larger to make layering easier.

How to care for your jacket
Simple maintenance in five steps: Close all zips, turn the jacket inside out, set the washing machine to 30°C with a small amount of special water repellent detergent, if possible. Add an extra rinse cycle to remove any residue, then spin slowly to preserve its technical performance.
How to restore waterproof properties?
Three effective solutions to restore optimal water resistance:
1. 15 minutes in a tumble dryer to reactivate the fabric treatment. 2. Use our technical detergent followed by the specific reactivator (ref. 8914281). 3. Choose our reactivating spray (ref. 8938490), which is quick and easy to use.
