Designed for young adventurers, this Quechua waterproof jacket offers reliable protection against bad weather.
How is the MH500 children's jacket's water resistance measured?
The fabric's resistance is measured by the height of the water column (mm) it can withstand, according to the JIS 1092 test. The higher the water pressure, the more water-resistant the fabric. This WTP jacket can withstand a pressure of 5,000 mm of water (equivalent to an intense 1-hour downpour). To approve this, the MH500 WTP rain jacket was placed for 1 hour under a shower with a volume of 60 liters of water/m²/hour. This test reproduces the average conditions of an intense downpour in the mountains.
How is the MH500 children's rain jacket's resistance tested?
Wear and tear resistance test: For example, we check that our wool clothes do not deform using tests conducted in laboratories. Color retention test: Color fastness is verified to ensure that colors do not bleed when in contact with saliva. Aging test: Repeated washing should not affect the properties, behavior, thickness, or appearance of the fabric.
How breathable is the MH500 waterproof jacket?
The breathability of components is measured by their thermal resistance to evaporation (RET). This is its ability to allow water vapor generated by the body during physical activity to escape and thus prevent water accumulation on the skin. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric.
RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabric
RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric
RET ≤ 20: little or no breathability
How to care for the MH500 children's rain-resistant jacket
1/ Machine wash (30 to 40°C): fasten Velcro tabs and zippers, use mild detergent. Wash jackets and pants inside out. Loosen straps and elastic bands. 2/ Avoid over-folding clothes in the washing machine: this can damage it. 3/ Do not mix styles and colors.
4/ Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
5/ Choose a full rinse cycle and gentle spin. 6/ Dry either on a clothesline or in a tumble dryer (minimum temperature and duration).
